Who is responsible

The controller for TeacherPrompt is Timofei Timoshadchenko, acting as an individual. For privacy questions, access, correction, or deletion requests, email privacy@teacherprompt.org.

Data TeacherPrompt processes

• Teacher account information: email address, display name, and account-verification status.
• Teacher workspace data: settings, survey titles, and generated teaching-prompt preferences.
• Student survey answers: a teacher-issued code or first name, class/grade, interests, preferred media and games, and career interests entered in the form.
• Feedback and support messages: the selected category, short title, message, and verified teacher-account email used for a reply.
• Limited technical events: page type, workflow result, coarse response-count ranges, and sanitized error identifiers. These events exclude student answers, emails, prompt text, URLs, and persistent user identifiers.

Why and how data is used

We use this data to provide the teacher workspace, display survey responses to authorized teachers, generate prompts, answer feedback and support requests, maintain security, and diagnose technical failures. Teachers should ensure that they have an appropriate basis under their school policy and applicable law before inviting students to complete a survey.

TeacherPrompt is not designed for sensitive categories of information. Do not enter health data, government identifiers, passwords, contact details, or full student profiles.

External AI services and teacher review

TeacherPrompt does not independently send student information to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, or any other external AI service. TeacherPrompt only prepares text and allows the teacher to copy it. The teacher decides whether to paste and submit that text to an external service.

Student survey fields are treated as untrusted context rather than instructions. Automated safeguards can reduce misuse but cannot guarantee that every inappropriate or manipulative response will be detected. The teacher should review student responses and the complete prompt before copying it, remove incorrect responses, and assess the external AI service under school policy and applicable law.

Storage, access, and retention

Teacher accounts, settings, surveys, and responses are stored using Firebase/Google Cloud. Active survey responses remain available while the teacher needs the survey. The teacher may delete an individual response or all responses at any time. When a survey is archived, TeacherPrompt records the archive time and the response-retention period begins. Automatic deletion is performed only by a server-side retention process, never by the date on a teacher's device; it will be enabled after the server cleanup service is configured. Account data is kept while the account is active, subject to a deletion request and technical backup cycles.

The verified survey owner and teachers to whom the owner explicitly grants access can read its responses. Only the owner can delete responses or manage the survey. Public survey links allow submission only; they do not allow respondents to read existing responses.

Service providers and international processing

TeacherPrompt uses Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and operational logs, REG.RU for support-email delivery, and, when enabled, PostHog Cloud in the EU for privacy-limited product events. These providers process data only to operate the service. Their locations and safeguards may involve processing outside your country; schools should assess these providers under their own policies.

Voluntary teacher research

Teachers may optionally complete an external research survey in exchange for seven days of full template access. TeacherPrompt creates a random, one-time participation code and stores its hash, the account UID it belongs to, its expiry, and whether it was redeemed. The external survey receives the code instead of the Firebase UID. Survey answers remain with the survey provider and are not copied into TeacherPrompt. Do not include student information. Participation is voluntary, and research-data requests can be sent to privacy@teacherprompt.org.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or information about processing by writing to the contact above. Teachers can also delete survey responses directly. Where consent is required by applicable law, it may be withdrawn; this does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Children and schools

TeacherPrompt is intended for use by teachers and schools, not for independent use by children. The teacher or school is responsible for obtaining any notices, permissions, or parental consent required for their students and location. Teachers should issue short student codes where practical; otherwise students should provide a first name only, not a surname.
