Privacy Notice
TeacherPrompt helps teachers create teaching prompts from short student surveys. Please use a teacher-issued code or a first name only, and do not submit sensitive personal information.
Who is responsible
The controller for TeacherPrompt is Timofey Timko, acting as an individual. For privacy questions, access, correction, or deletion requests, email teacherprompt.privacy@gmail.com.
Data TeacherPrompt processes
- Teacher account information: email address, display name, and account-verification status.
- Teacher workspace data: settings, survey titles, and generated teaching-prompt preferences.
- Student survey answers: a teacher-issued code or first name, class/grade, interests, preferred media and games, and career interests entered in the form.
- Limited technical events: page type, workflow result, coarse response-count ranges, and sanitized error identifiers. These events exclude student answers, emails, prompt text, URLs, and persistent user identifiers.
Why and how data is used
We use this data to provide the teacher workspace, display survey responses to the teacher who created the survey, generate prompts, maintain security, and diagnose technical failures. Teachers should ensure that they have an appropriate basis under their school policy and applicable law before inviting students to complete a survey.
TeacherPrompt is not designed for sensitive categories of information. Do not enter health data, government identifiers, passwords, contact details, or full student profiles.
Storage, access, and retention
Teacher accounts, settings, surveys, and responses are stored using Firebase/Google Cloud. A student response is scheduled for deletion 280 days after submission and a teacher may delete responses earlier from the workspace. Account data is kept while the account is active, subject to a deletion request and technical backup cycles.
Only the verified teacher who owns a survey can read or delete its responses. Public survey links allow submission only; they do not allow respondents to read existing responses.
Service providers and international processing
TeacherPrompt uses Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and operational logs, and, when enabled, PostHog Cloud in the EU for privacy-limited product events. These providers process data only to operate the service. Their locations and safeguards may involve processing outside your country; schools should assess these providers under their own policies.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or information about processing by writing to the contact above. Teachers can also delete survey responses directly. Where consent is required by applicable law, it may be withdrawn; this does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Children and schools
TeacherPrompt is intended for use by teachers and schools, not for independent use by children. The teacher or school is responsible for obtaining any notices, permissions, or parental consent required for their students and location. Teachers should issue short student codes where practical; otherwise students should provide a first name only, not a surname.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Questions or requests: teacherprompt.privacy@gmail.com.
